Afterglow Mindset
Integrative psychiatric care for adults in Minnesota
Sometimes you can’t quite put your experience into words: you just know something isn’t right.
You may feel exhausted no matter how much you rest. Your mind may race, stall, or feel difficult to access. Your body may stay tense, as if it’s always bracing. Motivation may come and go, leaving you unsure what’s actually driving it. And you may have learned to function well enough that others don’t see how much effort it takes just to keep going.
You’ve tried coping. You’ve pushed through. You’ve done what you were told should help.
And yet, something still doesn’t connect.
That doesn’t mean you’re broken.
It usually means the care you’ve received hasn’t been working at the right level.
Afterglow Mindset offers personalized, virtual psychiatric care for adults in Minnesota, with an integrative, physiology-informed approach that looks beyond symptom checklists and quick fixes. The focus is thoughtful medication management, nervous system regulation, and helping you feel more present in your own body and life again.
Services Offered
Comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment, including medication management when clinically appropriate, for adults navigating:
ADHD and executive function challenges (diagnosed or suspected)
Anxiety, panic, or chronic internal tension
Low mood, diminished motivation, or emotional flatness
Burnout, exhaustion, and prolonged stress states
Feeling shut down, overwhelmed, hypersensitive, or disconnected
Mood shifts or symptoms that don’t fit neatly into a diagnostic box
Uncertainty about past diagnoses or treatments that never quite helped
Cycles of over-functioning followed by collapse or loss of momentum
A persistent sense of not feeling like yourself
Feeling misunderstood or unseen in traditional mental health settings
Care at Afterglow Mindset is not about forcing you into a label or rushing toward answers. It’s about slowing things down enough to understand what’s actually driving your experience — and working from there.

No. I am a Physician Associate (PA-C) licensed to practice medicine independently in the state of Minnesota. I hold a master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies, a Master of Arts in Teaching and have completed the required 2,080 hours of supervised clinical practice, which has been formally declared to the state.
In accordance with Minnesota law, I maintain a Collaborative Practice Agreement with a licensed Minnesota physician. This agreement supports regulatory compliance but does not imply supervision — all care decisions are made independently and within my legal scope of practice.
I am trained and authorized to:
Diagnose and treat mental health conditions
Prescribe and manage medications, including controlled substances
Provide comprehensive, integrative care within my scope
If you have questions about qualifications, licensure, or training, you're always welcome to ask.
Hello! My name is Nathan (he/him), I’m a licensed Physician Associate (PA) in Minnesota and the founder of Afterglow Mindset.
I completed my Physician Assistant studies at Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri in 2014. I also hold a Master of Arts in Teaching degree from Missouri State University. I relocated with my family to the Twin Cities a few years ago in search of a more inclusive environment that better aligned with our values.
My husband and I have been together for over 10 years, and we have a 14-year-old kiddo whom we co-parent with their mom—who also happens to be my childhood best friend. Needless to say, Missouri just wasn’t the pot we were meant to grow in.
We’ve found so much more happiness and acceptance here, and Afterglow Mindset is a direct result of that. I look back now and don’t recognize the person I was back then—in the best way. I was stuck in routines, negative patterns, and just existing through life.
My mindset changed when we moved—not because I was different, but because I did something different to break out of that cycle.
You don’t have to move across the country to find your Afterglow Mindset. You just have to choose to do something a little different for yourself—and go from there.
When you feel ready to do something different for your mental health, just reach out. I look forward to connecting with you.
